President Tom Lewand spoke to media earlier this afternoon at Ford Field prior to the Lions vs. Packers game to give more details on the Ford Field hosting tomorrow’s Monday night game between the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants.

The game was originally going to be played at Minnesota’s Metro Dome; however, part of the roof collapsed due to a snowstorm. Lewand said they reached out in regards to hosting the game this morning at about 9 am.

Lewand: “We’ve just completed a conference call with the Commissioner and others – the Giants and Vikings game will be played here tomorrow night, 7:20 kickoff. The event will be free for any Detroit sports fan. We’ll have preferred seating for anybody with a ticket to the Minnesota/New York Giants game today – they’ll have preferred seating. Anybody who has a ticket to today’s game, their ticket stub will be good for general admission seating tomorrow. There will be no reserve seats outside of those ticket holders from the Minnesota/New York Giant game today.”

Tomorrow’s game will be available for anyone interested in coming, free of charge.

Lewand: “Anybody with a ticket to today’s game can get in free. We’ll also have tickets available at the Ford Field box office starting at 9:00 am tomorrow morning. Again, free of charge, but you do need a ticket to get in.”

As a Vikings fan, I just wanted to thank the city of Detroit and the Lions organization for opening their city and stadium to both teams this fine Monday. The Lions played a great game yesterday and hopefully this game will be as exciting.
