John Henry Johnson made a fast, but meaningful, stop in Detroit in the midst of his Hall of Fame career.
Johnson won his only NFL title during his first year in Detroit when he helped the Lions to a championship.
He was the team’s leading ground gainer during the regular season. He then chipped in with 40 yards on eight carries and had one catch for 16 yards in the Lions’ 59-14 blowout of the Cleveland Browns in the 1957 NFL Championship Game.
