Posted by Chrissie Wywrot on September 23, 2011 – 3:35 pm

The NFL announced today that quarterback Matthew Stafford has been voted the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week for his Week 2 performance against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Stafford finished the game 23-of-39 passing for 294 yards with four touchdowns and one interception in Detroit’s 48-3 win.

The margin of victory is the largest in Detroit Lions’ team history and Stafford’s seven touchdowns over two games ties a 1962 team record for the most touchdown passes in the season’s first two games.

I think is a great start to the season I have been a fan for 30+ yrs and this is the best I have seen the team still with a little work they will be even better the true test is going to come when they play Green Bay and if they play them like they played New England in the pre season I don’t see why we shouldn’t be talking playoff contenders. Got the Roar back for sure.

Hey Matt, you have always had the support of the entire state of Michigan behind you, now you’re making a believer out of everybody else. Stay well and do what you do best, pass the rock around and win. 16 and 0 would get you elected govenor.

What an outstanding come back win!!! I think that this win will bode well in the future because not only was it extremely demoralizing for the Vikings, but it just reinforces that the Lions are never out of any game no matter how horribly they play at the beginning. Congratulations to all of the Lyons, and coaching staff… nice halftime adjustments!
