Kevin Smith leads charge into the 35-27 lead

Posted by ttwentyman on November 20, 2011 – 4:53 pm

What a difference a half makes.

Like they’ve done so many times this year, the Lions have fought back from a 13-point deficit to now lead 35-27 after Kevin Smith‘s second touchdown of the game.

They’ve played nearly flawless in the second half.

Smith was out of football on a couch three weeks again and now has 161 all-purpose yards and two scores against the Panthers.

Terrific game by Smith.

Welcome back KSmith we have missed your ability to get the tough yards. Hang in there and give it your all, because this is a rare second chance to make the grade.

O.K. Coach Swartz, we’ve got our running game back, with Smith, he got a taste of reality, coach linehan, better game plan, stop keying on Calvin, we LOVE him, but greenbay, is going to key on him as well, you’ve got great t-ends, Pettygrew,Sheffler,Heller, all fantastic, and you got great other recievers,Buerlson, young, stovall and the young man we picked up from Chicago, they’ll make the play’s, just get them the ball, but now, we got a running game, greenbay is not sure what to key on now, use your imagination, let Shotgun, cut loose, HAVE FUN, but wipe there A&$, frankly, i’m tired of that touchdown dance rogers does, i hope Suh, takes his middle out, you play out all your options at reciever, you will open up Calvin, and you seen at the end off the game, he’s not a premidonna, he was happy for his team, what a player

I think Kevin Smith is here to stay. He doesn’t have Jahvid’s speed, but he makes better cuts, rarely gets stopped behind the line of scrimmage, and is more durable, which in part means he can handle a 20+ rushing attempt day, which is something the Lions desperately need . When Jahvid comes back, he should be a situational back or a third down back. But if Kevin Smith continues to play like he did today, he should now be “The Man”. Congratulations, Kevin, you deserve it!!

Kevin: nice to see you back again we truly needed your running skills. your cutting ability and your hard running is what the Lons need. Even when Best and LeShoure come back next year, i hope the Lions keep you.

nice comeback win again. now, what i’d really like to see on Thursday is a very business like approach during the game. we should be able to go up and down the field with g.bay. but i hope we don’t do ANY in game celebrations of any type…offense and defense. let’s just take it to them and save all the celebrating AFTER the game.we’ve lost how many Thanksgiving games in a row? how about a different approach?

I have been a fan of the Lions for ten years now, and what a hard decade it has been for them. Going 0-16, injuries, penalties, and lack of defense are just a sum of the problems the Lions faced. It’s as if the football gods just don’t like the Lions, or they are just absurd heroes. At the end of every season I always said the same thing, “well there is always next year.” But this year I truly believe under the leadership of Jim Schwartz and his young boys. They will make a playoff berth and excel. but lets not get a head of our self’s that’s how we got into this mess to begin with. Coach Schwartz is wise to take games one at a time and the players and fans know this. also I am glad to see Kevin Smith playing ball again, I think the real God is watching over these players especially Mathew Stafford. I wish the best for this team, I always have. because its the only thing I have. IN DETROIT

great game plan thought we had been targetting Calvin to muc h glad to see Nate is finally used and become a factor. Tight ends you got to catch those balls fight for them better.Overall great game good team win.

Great game Kevin Smith its good to see you back! Also to the rest of the team. If you play Green Bay(the whole game) like you played the second half against Carolina it will be a Great Thanksgiving Day. Hey by the way were’t the Lions the last team to beat Green Bay last year?

Great job, Kevin! If ever anyone deserved the chance to taste success, its you!
It was scary to see what a running looked like when paired with our air attack!!

Pins and needles but never punctured. It still hurts when you’re being stuck. They bared the pain and stuck back! GREAT GAME!! Kevin I was glad to see you back. If our line continue to block like they did this game you can still get a 1000. Alright now, quit putting us through this and just win from start to finish. Still in Atlanta rooting every game at the Sports Cafe. GOOO LIONS.
