Lions fill Suh’s roster spot with DE Keyunta Dawson

The Lions have used the roster exemption given to them by the NFL in the wake of Ndamukong Suh’s two-game suspension to sign defensive end Keyunta Dawson.

Dawson was with the Lions in the preseason but was part of the team’s final cuts before the regular season began.

Dawson played his first four seasons in the NFL with the Colts, starting 20 games over that span. He was a seventh-round pick by the Colts in 2007 out of Texas Tech.

Dawson will add depth to the defensive line as Lawrence Jackson recovers from a thigh injury and Andre Fluellen moves back to defensive tackle to help fill that rotation in Suh’s absence.
