Check off another item from the Lions’ offseason to-do list.

Lions defensive tackle Sammie Hill became the last of the team’s restricted free agents to sign his tender on Thursday.

Linebacker DeAndre Levy and offensive tackle Corey Hilliard signed their tenders on Monday.

Hill had until Friday to sign the original-round tender (fourth round) worth $1.26 million. He’s been participating in phase one of the offseason training program, which began Monday, without a contract after signing a waiver.

Hill is an important reserve with starting experience along the Lions’ defensive front.

Levy was given a second-round tender worth $1.93 million and Hilliard signed an original-round tender (sixth round) worth $1.26 million.

This idea of maybe taking a running back in the first rouind scares me. We need one or two more studs in the secondary and an offensive tackle for sure. We haven’t filled those holes in Free Agency yet so, lets fill the need and help ourselves get better and deeper in the process.

agree with you about about taking a back in the first round , and help in the secondary, Alot depends on who falls to the Lions at 23. If it’s one of the elite corners ( with maybe the exeption of Janoris Jenkins ) is still there I think we would take him ,and try and find a back in the mid to late rounds if one slides.

Okay, here’s an idea….how bout trading Cliff Avril to Philly for Asante Samuel????

Rather have Cliff Avril than Asante. Draft a center not tackle. Without the center being big enough we get no push on tough yard situations peeps. 75% passing offense doesn’t make ANY tackle look good when defenses already know that your passing and with Best as your running back guess what were doing – hb tosses and everything to the outside. figure it out peeps it’s not the tackles that need replacement immediately it’s the inside part of line that needs an overhaul. hb dive play doesn’t exist with this o-line. My dream o-line out of the draft is Center out of Wisconsin and give him a year with situational play time this year if we go o-linemen this year

Sammie Hill is VERY underrated. I’m very happy he’s back!
