Report: Leshoure pleads guilty to lesser charge in marijuana case

Posted by ttwentyman on May 11, 2012 – 11:13 am

Lions running back Mikel Leshoure was in a Berrien County courtroom Friday and plead guilty to possession of marijuana and paid a $575 fine, according to Julie Mack of Mlive.com.

Leshoure was originally charged with possession of marijuana, second offense, but a plea bargain reduced the charge to possession of marijuana, first offense. Leshoure’s sentence was $575 in fines and costs.

Leshoure’s lawyer, Joseph Lavigne, told the judge Leshoure is in a 24-month program that initially requires him to be tested two or three times a week for drug use, according to the article.

It’s unclear if Leshoure will face a suspension from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

Leshoure wow you could not control getting hurt, and I was disappointed you missed a season where we really needed you. I got one question for you, you have worked very hard to get to the point you are in your career, you are not a college player anymore football while it may seem like a game it is a business and if you think you can half-ass do your job and party then please do not put on the Lions gear I have been waiting for a back to excite me like Billy and Barry did. This team needs to know if you are all in or you are just hanging around for the check. This is THE SEASON are you in to win?

Man seeks to escape himself in myth, and does so by any means at his disposal. Drugs, alcohol, or lies. Unable to withdraw into himself,he disguises himself. Lies and inaccuracy give him a few moments of comfort.

I hope this isn’t the way you want to be remembered, you have far to much talent and charisma to be a bust. We haven’t given up on you yet, put that $*^t in the rear view mirror and look toward your bright future. stay strong, stay healthy and for the love of football stay clean! look alive #25

He and Fairly need to grow up and produce……it is a shame that both were from the same draft class…..stop all the rah rah talk concerning the two…..both seem to have a sense of entitlement, which must end……

Shame on all of you people trying to shame him. Have any of you every tore your achilles tendon? I imagine that to be immensely painful, i’d wanna numb it with a buzz too. But all jokes aside the lions will be a better team when he’s back on the field and that 24 month program will ensure that. I’m burning a fat one for ya right now buddy!
