Source: Lions agree to terms with WR Jarett Dillard

Posted by ttwentyman on June 11, 2012 – 1:00 pm

The Lions worked out free agent wide receiver Jarett Dillard on Monday and agreed to terms on a one-year contract following that workout, according to league sources.

Dillard, a fifth-round pick of the Jaguars in 2009, played in 14 games (five starts)  for the Jaguars last year and caught 29 passes for 292 yards and a touchdown. The Jaguars released him in May. Dillard (5-10, 187) missed all of the 2010 season with a foot injury.

The Lions will have to make room on the 90-man roster for Dillard, but have yet to announce that transaction.

Dillard holds the NCAA record for career touchdown receptions with 60 while at Rice.

The team signed veteran receiver Maurice Stovall last week.

well this jarrett dillard, i dont know about him and this rieff guy he looks like he could hold back the whole team, he is so big. hope he works out, i hope everyone that has injuries will be well by reg playing season. this mini camp what is that all about, 3 days dont give ya much time to do anything, there are some high school,s that practice more than the lions do, and they are tuff charachters, to contend with. the lions should be that way.i just want to see a winning team this year, hope the new ones canshow us fans something this yeari also hope stafford can exicute more this year, and hope he can search the field and pick his man before he gets a sack.i want everyone to play well not have dropsy, and hope there is a good runningback, that can move with the ball. hope to see more corner backs this year and hope there is a good quarter back in case stafford get,s hurt.i want them to be well enough and good enough to beat those cheese heads. and new england.and the colt,s and the broncos , where manning is. i dont like that cry baby eithir. i think he will be a hinderance to what ever team he is on, because of his neck surgery. i wouldnt have him on a team if i was a coach. but other than that i think things will go good this year for my Lions.

First carol learn how to speak, second what do you mean you want stafford to have a better year incase you didnt nkow he threw for over 5,000 yards, go check the stats and let me know how many QB have done that. Third there will be no team that will be 100% healthy all year, please let me know what team played all 16 games with out lossing a starter to at least one game. Fourth you must not be a true lions fan, you dont know much or know how to speak, so once you learn how to speak correct and learn some history about the Detroit Lions than you can actually write something half intelligent on here. GO LIONS PROVE EVERYBODY WRONG.

Eric, do you ever stop to think before you type off your feelings, that could very well be a young Lions fan that I believe posted a much more informative post than yours was.

Carol, all teams have minicamp but thats not the only practice they get. The lions pretty much practice as much as any other team.

Why did we sign another reciever? Megatron, Burleson, Rocky Young, Broyles, Logan, Stovall, Hughes, Tolliver and Edwards should be plenty. We only play with three at a time anyway.

Man love to see so many Lions fans, but wish they were more informed!! Stafford is top 5 in leauge when healthy, and reciever is not set afetr Megatron and Burleson nobody else is either proven or a starter…… we shoulda signed Randy Moss, but now should go ahead and settle for T.O. i’m serious for real!!!!!!!!!! I know he’s 38-39 yrs old and can be a non-team player, but the threat from him alone to defenses would free Megatron up from double and triple coverage!!! Oh and by the way we do play with more than 3 recievers at a time most teams have 4 even 5 reciever sets especially the Lions!! Much love to all my fellow lions fans even the uninformed ones…….. Go Lions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SuperBowl 2013 or Bust!!
