Lions veteran defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch will try and give it a go tonight against the Raiders.
Vanden Bosch came out to warm-up in his game pants before the game and was not among the list of players ruled out for the game. Vanden Bosch will not start, though. Lawrence Jackson will start in his place.
Vanden Bosch has been dealing with a knee injury since the beginning of camp and has not played in either of the team’s first two preseason games. He and practiced in a limited fashion on Thursday after going through a full practice Wednesday for the first time in the exhibition season.
The Lions will also call on rookie third-round pick Bill Bentley to start at right cornerback.
Bentley and veteran Jacob Lacey have alternated starts during the preseason as the team continues to give both players a chance to win the job.
The last time Bentley started against the Browns in the preseason opener, he had an interception, a big tackle on a third-down play and nearly had a pick-six. He was also beat deep one time.
Ruled out for the Lions are: running back Stefan Logan (ankle), safety Louis Delmas (knee), cornerback Chris Greenwood (PUP), running back Jahvid Best (PUP), center/guard Bill Nagy and offensive tackle Jonathan Scott (knee).
