CB Chris Houston inactive tonight; WR Ryan Broyles to play

Posted by ttwentyman on September 16, 2012 – 7:03 pm

As expected, cornerback Chris Houston will not play tonight for the Lions with that sprained ankle. Houston practiced in limited fashion this week but was listed as doubtful for tonight’s game with the 49ers on Friday’s injury report. He will miss his second game this season.

Jacob Lacey and Drayton Florence will start at the two cornerback spots for Houston and rookie Bill Bentley, who was already ruled out Friday with a concussion. Lacey at right corner and Florence at left.

Between them, Lacey and Florence have 124 career starts in the NFL.

Along with Houston and Bentley, safety Louis Delmas, linebacker Travis Lewis, offensive tackles Jason Fox and Corey Hilliard and quarterback Kellen Moore are inactive for tonight’s game.

Receiver Ryan Broyles is active and will play in his first NFL game after being inactive last week against the Rams. Broyles underwent ACL surgery nearly 10 months ago.

Defensive tackle Corey Williams, who missed practice all week with a knee injury, is in the lineup and will start.

Play calling in this 49ers game is horrible. A screen to calvin is stupid. We trying to put the ball in his hands so bad that we messing up. Just let him be a threat and throw the ball to someone else. Put Ryan Broyles in the game let him stretch the field so we can start gaining some yards.

WTF was that game plan tonight? We need new offensive coordinator. Run the ball first two carries on every offensive set? Calvin is triple teamed, but don’t throw to the tight ends, or Titus or Burelson more than twice in the game? I don’t get it. We looked pathetic. And what’s happened to Stafford? He looked bewildered out there, no confidence in his receivers whatsoever. Two or three times Pettigrew was wide open and he missed him. Very disappointed. No bragging rights this year for me in L.A. The Lions were a huge dud tonight.

whats up with the defensive spacing, I could run through those great big gaping gaps, we had 15 ft between lineman, no wonder Gore ran wild on us, the play calling sucked, all of a sudden we cant pass down field! And get rid of delmas, get him a box of bandaids and send him packing
