Stafford nominated for GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Week

Quarterback Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions are nominated for the GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Week for Sunday’s come-from-behind win at Philadelphia.

After the Eagles kept Stafford, wide receiver Calvin Johnson and the offense mostly in check for the first three quarters, Stafford led his team to 17 points in the last 11 minutes of regulation to force overtime, running for one touchdown and completing another.

Once in overtime, the Detroit defense imposed its will to force Philadelphia three-and-out and give Stafford and the offense the ball. Stafford completed 2-of-2 passes for 33 yards to give kicker Jason Hanson the opportunity to win the game 26-23 with a 45-yard field goal.

Also nominated are Seattle’s Russell Wilson for the Seahawk’s fourth-quarter win over New England and Denver’s Peyton Manning for his 35 second-half unanswered points to give the Broncos the division win on the road.

You can vote for Stafford and the Lions at! The winner will be announced Friday during NFL Network’s “Around the League” show.

    Gimme a break!

A YEAR after his concusion; he still can’t play?

There is only one reason; IMO, he doesn’t want to play. Best must be telling the doctors not to clear him, then say he wishes he could play, all the while laughing all the way to the bank.

No other player in the NFL goes more than a month of lost games due to concussions.

So… my question; are the Lion’s now forced to keep BEST permanently on IR till his contract runs out… then let him go?

Or can the Lion’s finally cut this “dead weight” after this season?

I’m betting, NFL will pressure Lion’s to keep BEST on roster til contact ends!

Stafford; you had it for “Never Say Never Moment”…

    On Sunday…

    But as your commercial says…

There is still one game left to be played.

    Payton earned it this week.

No question it was a great come from behind win by our Lions, but to be totally objective, NOTHING has compared to the Peyton Manning led 35 unanswered points after being behing 24-0 at the half in the HISTORY of the NFL! Gotta give this weekly award to him; probably for a very long, long time!
