CB Bill Bentley returns to practice; Lacey still out

Cornerback Bill Bentley returned to the portion of practice open to the media Friday, though he didn’t do much.

Bentley has been out since Sunday’s game in Philadelphia with a shoulder injury. He said Thursday in the locker room that he did not know his status for Monday’s game in Chicago and was just taking it “day-by-day” at this point.

Rookie Jonte Green and the newly resigned Alphonso Smith were handling most of the other cornerback duties opposite Chris Houston.

Safety Louis Delmas (knee, rest) and defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch (rest) returned to practice after sitting out Thursday.

I know you cannot predict an injury and some are nagging ijuries from previous occassions however is it they are not warming up correctly or our training staff not equiped to handle injuries corners are getting or is it that they play a style that makes it impossible to stay healthy. I am mystified why we have some many injuries at coenerback postion, I cannot answer it so I know the coaches will not even ponder it they have to much more to evaluate to waste time here, but this offseason can somebody do a study so it may not be a issue for the next cause it will not make a difference who we draft if we cannot keep them on the field.

Lions cornerbacks are too damn little to handle tackling responsibilities in the defensive formations that the Lions play. They are isolated on the edges once safetys drop back and cover. GET BIGGER CORNERS.
