Cornerback Jacob Lacey missed his fourth practice of the week Saturday, still recovering from a concussion. He suffered the injury in last week’s win at Philadelphia and is still going through the NFL’s protocol on returning from concussions. His status for Monday’s game at Chicago will be released in today’s injury report at 4 p.m.
If Lacey can’t go, the Lions will turn to either Bill Bentley, Jonte Green or Alphonso Smith at right cornerback. Bentley has been nursing a shoulder injury and his status for Monday is still up in the air, though.
Also missing the portion of practice open to the media was defensive tackle Corey Williams. Williams has been limited all week, his first week back on the practice field since undergoing knee surgery at the end of September. He’s missed the Lions’ last two games.
The Lions had a similar schedule with safety Louis Delmas, though, in his return to the practice field last week from his own knee surgery. Delmas practiced during the week in limited fashion and was eased back at the end of the week. He was ready to play Sunday. We’ll see if that’s the plan with Williams, too.
