Johnson and Delmas sit out practice; Avril back

The Lions were on the practice field for the final time today in preparation for Sunday’s game against Seattle and did so without a number of starters for the portion of practice open to the media.

After limited practice Thursday, receiver Calvin Johnson (knee) and safety Louis Delmas (knee) sat out today. Game designations will be released at 4 p.m. on the team’s injury report, but expect both players to play Sunday.

That might not be the case for cornerback Jacob Lacey and safety Amari Spievey, who have yet to practice since suffering concussions. Lacey is in danger of missing his second consecutive game, while Spievey suffered his concussion Monday at Chicago.

Linebacker DeAndre Levy missed his second straight practice with a hamstring injury. If Levy can’t play Sunday, expect Ashlee Palmer to start in his place.

Defensive end Cliff Avril returned to practice Friday after missing Thursday with a back injury.
