Levy, Bentley inactive today for Lions

The Lions will be without three starters on defense as cornerback Jacob Lacey, safety Amari Spievey and linebacker DeAndre Levy are all inactive vs. the Seahawks today.

Lacey and Spievey have yet to be cleared from concussions while Levy has been dealing with a hamstring injury since Monday’s game at Chicago. All three players did not practice this week.

The Lions will also be without rookie cornerback Bill Bentley, who will miss his second consecutive game with a shoulder injury. Rookie Jonte Green will get his second start at right cornerback opposite Chris Houston.

Fifth-year linebacker Ashlee Palmer will get the start for Levy and Ricardo Silva will start for Spievey at safety.

Coming off knee surgery Sept. 25, defensive tackle Corey Williams made his return to the field at Chicago on Monday, but only played 19 snaps as Nick Fairley got the start. Williams returns to the starting lineup today.

Running back Kevin Smith is also active for the first time in two games. The last time he was active was Sept. 30 vs. the Vikings, but he did not play in that game. He hasn’t carried the football since Week 2 at San Francisco.

The other inactives for the Lions are: tackles Jason Fox and Corey Hilliard and quarterback Kellen Moore.

Mr. Mayhew lets trade for a starting CB before the deadline. Cleveland is going no where lets go after Joe Haden. He’s in the dog house with the 4 game suspension. I would rather find a good corner who has a history of good health and pay with picks than take a chance with a rookie. What about Vonte Davis or Chris Gamble or Brandon Flowers. As long as you have health issues in the backfield your going to have difficulty winning consistently. You must address this void in your quest for a super bowl
