Spievey and Williams ruled out for Sunday; Delmas doubtful

The Lions are likely to be without three defensive starters Sunday when they host Green Bay in a key NFC North matchup.

The team has already ruled out safety Amari Spievey (concussion) and defensive tackle Corey Williams (knee), and has listed safety Louis Delmas as doubtful with knee injury.

All three players did not practice all week.

Delmas will miss his third straight game and Spievey his fourth. Delmas also missed the team’s first four games this season.

Williams hasn’t played since aggravating a previous knee injury at Jacksonville a couple weeks ago.

Cornerback Chris Houston (ankle) is listed as questionable along with receiver Calvin Johnson (knee), though it’s expected that both with play and start.

Houston injured his left ankle in the fourth quarter at Minnesota last week and did not return. He’s been limited in practice the last two days after sitting out practice Wednesday.

Calvin Johnson was on the same regimen as Houston, sitting out Wednesday and practicing in limited fashion Thursday and Friday.

Defensive end Cliff Avril (back), safety Erik Coleman (eye), kicker Jason Hanson (foot), linebacker Ashlee Palmer (chest) and receiver Titus Young (knee) are listed as probable.

Can we finally get rid of Spievey? Hopefully this draft will be about the secondary.

LIons suck, always have and always will, yes the girl named suh takes plays off, I am saying it and have said it before, suh should be traded, he is all hype, and maybe just maybe, he should be the punter, he is better at that than he is trying to takle someone, I am 46 and I will go out on the stage and say that I willl out do suh, and I will have more tackles and sacks that what he can do, I am 5’8 and 190 pounds and 46 years old, I will out do suh, and fire gunther

You ought to think about dropping by the Lions during practice one day and show Suh what he’s doing wrong!!! I think it would be a good idea if you lined up as an offensive guard and took all of that 46 years of experience, 5′ 8″ 190 lbs. body of yours and threw Mr. Suh around like the ragdoll you apparently think he is. The fact of the matter is that you wouldn’t make it as the Lions water boy most likely, so why don’t you stop following the Lions if you don’t like the product they put on the field? Maybe you should concentrate on finding a good psychiatrist to help you with your psychotic imagination and maybe with enough medication, and intense therapy they can help you get your anger issues somewhat under control. Might you be the one claiming to be the infamous “anonymous scout” whom most recently attacked Suh in the media recently? I’m guessing that the possibilities favor you greatly, especially with the credibility of those media members who’s printing that garbage in order to try and make a name for themselves in the sports world!!!

The list of injiried starting players is high. The high salary cap and players demanding big salaries made it very difficult in the ability to draft or select quaility players from free agency to give the depth the Lions need.
A lot of season left for the Lions. Key players need to step up.
The Lions need to look at the future.
