I agree with you dave the problem is to me we play this "bend don't break" defense from the start of the game. It seems like every game the lions are just trying to "survive" Instead of trying to win. They walk around and speak with this cocky attitude but they play this desperate game. I dont get it. I've posted a few things in blogs as well probable longer than the blog itself so i won't go too far in it. But why is the entire defense lined up at the goaline? With the exception of Levy, and Delmas nobody else on that defense is a sure tackler anyway so why even play so far back? The defense cant be that week. They had what 12 yards to go and the entire defense is still 12 yards off? UNACCEPTABLE. But the corners play anywhere from 5 to 10 yards off every game. they Never contest the wide receivers routes they never reroute any opposing wide receivers. So Im not surpised. Im 21 years old and its the same old lions smh.

John. I do not disagree that there have been untimely fumbles and dropped passes. I stated that numerous times in previous blogs and didn't think it necessary to re-state the obvious. But one or two players have not cost us as many games as bad coaching. We can't play with a lead. We play to not loose instead of playing to win. Conservative play calling on offense trying to do the staus quo of using up the clock instead of going after the first downs to hold onto the the ball that the more aggressive, successful teams do. Then we go into the classic 2 minute defense: bend but don't break which only allows the opponent to come down and score. Sound familiar? You can blame the players. But if you think the coaching doesn't deserve a share of the criticism, you're the one full of bull!

oh thats bull the caches haven't dropped one pass and only one penalty on them. Its a team game but a dropped pass is on that player unless it was too high or low.Two plyers are the biggst culprit Pettigrew and Young.Pett catches a lot becuse hes trown too much.they say hes drpped 6 before the last game bukll hes dropped at leat two a game many if completed would of been game changers, yes the coaches call the play and choose whos on the field other than that the pay they get should make the catches.Remember before the gloves they seldom had dropped passes and in worse4 conditions

Vanden Bosch must be on his death bed if he's missing practice. Or, the coach is making him sit to have him ready. Delmas is always hurt. Tell me something new. The only thing at stake the rest of the season is playing for a draft choice. The coaches will mess this up too. They are coaching for their jobs now. If not, they should be. Mistakes made in the past are on the coaches shoulders. "We were protecting the end zone, we should have never let the QB outside the pocket, and someone failed to protect in-between". I wonder if the players were actually taught that in practice? If so, why wern't they reminded to do so? Never assume. Even in a Steven Sagal movie their was more wisdom conveyed than from our bench. "Assumption is the mother of all Screw-ups" (I cleaned it up from the original quote). It all comes back to the coaches. Sorry Schwartz, you initially did a good job. Lately your imaturity is showing and it's hurting the team.
