“Shopping for Christmas gifts, it’s hard to go out to the mall and get gifts because everybody wants to take a picture, so I just end up buying all my gifts online.
“Over the last few years I’ve been recognized more and more and more. It just keeps on more and more and once one person wants a picture, if you take it, then your shopping is finished because everybody else wants one.
“I don’t even try to disguise myself now, I just don’t go to the mall. And if I do go, I just go right when they open.
“My parents’ anniversary is on Christmas Eve, so my brother and sisters always used to cook for them, make cookies for Santa afterwards and watch ‘The Grinch’ and then try to go to sleep. I don’t remember what we made, but it was always a nice little dinner.
“My favorite Christmas gift ever has to be my Ninja Turtles when I was little. I got the four.
“Picking my favorite turtle – that’s a tough one because I love the nunchucks but Donatello was my favorite with the stick. I like him because of his weapon.
“I got the bus. I got the mini-van, whatever it was. I was good after that.”

The Lions ended the season of second-year defensive tackle Nick Fairley Wednesday by placing him on injured reserve.
Fairley injured his shoulder in the fourth quarter of the Lions’ 27-20 loss to the Packers Dec. 9. He missed last week’s game in Arizona due to the injury.
It’s unclear if he’ll need surgery at this point.
Fairley was coming into his own in his second season after being hampered by a foot injury as a rookie. The Lions took him No. 13 overall in the 2011 NFL Draft. He had earned a starting role and finishes with 34 tackles, 5.5 sacks and two forced fumbles this season.
The Lions signed former Michigan State Spartan defensive tackle Ogemdi Nwagbuo to fill Fairley’s roster spot.
Nwagbuo was signed by the Giants as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2008. He didn’t make the Giants roster that season, but earned a spot on the Chargers’ practice squad.
He made the active roster for San Diego in 2009 and spent the next three seasons with the team.
Nwagbuo played in four games (one start) for the Panthers last season.
He has 44 career tackles and 1.5 sacks.
