Brandon Pettigrew sits out practice again; Louis Delmas back

Posted by ttwentyman on December 20, 2012 – 1:05 pm

The Lions were still without tight end Brandon Pettigrew for the portion of practice open to the media today. Pettigrew hasn’t practiced or played since injuring an ankle in the first quarter at Green Bay Dec. 9.

The Lions will release game designations for Saturday night’s game vs. Atlanta Friday at 4 p.m. on detroitlions.com.

Safety Louis Delmas returned to practice Thursday after sitting out Wednesday’s session to rest his sore left knee.

I just read an article in the detroit news where coach fixed his lips and actually said”you have to have a sense of urgency in the NFL”!! If coach had a sense of urgency we wouldn’t be 4-10!!! If coach had a sense of urgency, Stefan Logan would have been off the roster weeks ago!! If coach had a sense of urgency he wouldn’t let Brandon Pettigrew drop pass after pass and do nothing!! If coach had a sense of urgency he wouldn’t keep letting the DBs get roasted without turning their heads around and locating the football in coverage!!! Coach hasn’t shown a sense of urgency all season long!! Maybe it’s that contract extension. Eventhough he doesn’t seem like the type to be in it for the money. Come on coach this is stuff that is inexcusable!! You have access to the film and u watch the film coach but you’ve done nothing to fix the problems u see on film COACH!! Your actions all season long has shown a lack of urgency if anything!!! START BEING A REAL COACH OR GET TO STEPPIN!!!!

I agree somewhat. Not once have I saw Schwartz get in somebody’s face after screwing up, not once. All he does is shake his head.

The Lions and coach Schwartz should stay ! This year has been a bad year for everybody ! except CJ ! the team problem there was more than Titus although he was a big one. this team came in out of shape and no endurance it showed all season ! The defense coach has to go and the offense have to go please get coach that can adjust at halftime and on the fly to what the opposing defense is doing and the offense and adjust your play calling we have some great players but the last five games we done by the fourth quarter in that we had run out of gas ! So lets also add strength coach and a quarter back coach Stafford said he saw on film that he missed plays to CJ he could have made the throws he needs to have a QB coach that will correct those throws and help him add a little more control on his throw and mentally mechnics!

This city will never get it?
I’m telling you that you are crazy b lambing the coach for everything!
Yes, Schwartz Has shown some problems on the field with some of his on field choices. But, b lambing a coach for what is the players faults is the stupidest thing I ever heard. It is the GM, Scouts, fault for the players that are brought in hear. And if there is a problem with a players production it should be their job to go to that player and say WHAT THE……… And it is also their job to get rid of players that aren’t working out and taking care of the players that aren’t working out.
these players were brought here under the assumption that they could play football When the GM can see that they can’t play football then it is his job to find someone who can. And I do believe that it is time to start weeding the good players out of the bad players and replace the ones like Logan ( which I like Logan from what I know of him as a citizen of our great country) However as a player there is more that a player in his position should be getting done and he isn’t, there are several men on this Team that I believe could do his job and do it better.
Anyways GO LIONS! This year is nearly over again for our pro football Team.
I am LOOKING Foreword TO A BETTER YEAR NEXT YEAR! GO LIONS!

Thank you Delnas for step’in it up and giving us your best. Now I hope that you can get that Knee rested and fixed. You are a real player! I wish you the best and will be thinkin about that knee of yours and hoping for a solution. Knee’s are the hardest fix on the leg I believe? might be wrong on that thought .
Antway’s Thank you Delmas for going out there and doing what you do.
I noticed the change and it is great to have Men on our team.

You’re all a little bit wrong, some more than others. And you’re a little bit right (Anthony more than others). If the coach doesn’t go than some of his staff should. I been saying this since 2 weeks before the Texans game (by the way, that’s ALL on Schwartz), we have been playing NOT to LOOSE rather than playing to win. Translation, we don’t protect the lead the way the successful teams do. We get conservative and run the ball to use up time and turn it over and still loose. While watching other games waiting for the Lions late game, I saw the Colts do a play-action pass for a first down right after the Titans called their last time-out. That’s aggresive football, playing to win. It’s not necessary to explain the flip-side of that scenario. That’s what the Lions have done to loose every game thay had the lead with 2 minutes left. Defensively, we do a straight rush. You can count the stunts we did all season on one hand. We don’t confuse the offense or disguise a thing. Sorry guys, that’s coaching. Dropped balls and fumbles are part of the game. Adrian Peterson used to fumble a lot till John Madden suggested he get rid of the nylon sleeves. What have we done to solve those problems? Can anyone answer that? We blame the players. If they are the blame by not trying to fix the problem, than they deserve to go. In this years draft, we need to fix the “holes” in the “D”. Drafting the best avaiable athlete is not acceptable if we’re ever going to win, unless his name is Manti’ Teo.

I have a idea our season is over! It is what it is lets get Megatron his yards he to surpass Jerry Rice. The players that are injured set them out the rest of the season and get them ready for next season!
