Stafford is a damn good QB. We just need a new OC. They play selection and time of play calls were terrible. Its no way a QB leads the league in passing yards and damn near at the bottom of starting QBs in TDs.

What we need to do is draft for the defense, have fairly or williams stay healthy so suh can make them look good. Then we stop with “establish the run crap” and throw the ball like we do best. Im all for passes behind the line and let the receiver make a play like we did when we won 10 games. Thats our run game. Then we need to do WAY more no huddle. We thrive on it. But honestly a huge problem is staying healthy…that and they need to get Jeff Backus off the line and let Reiff take his spot cause he looked good the game he started. Really we just need players who can make that one play that would make the difference in the game. Honestly just get better :/

the whole team needs to do some soul searching. Stafford is good but any
Lions recent coaching staff year2000 till now has never been brilliant on changing
qiarterbacks when they have a bad day 3 or more interceptions. joey harrington
ty detmer matt stafford. stafford being the best. Jim Mcmahan was never given a
chance as joeys backup and Shaun Hill is more than capable, he won games
when Matt was injured for 2 seasons.

At first I wasn’t a believer in Stafford, injury prone as hell. Then last season he showed us all what he could do, 5,000+ yards, 40+ TD’s. If you look at the stats over the year and the inconsistnacy at all positions around him it aint his fault. At no point after week 4 was he with the same group of guys to throw to. Calvin was the only true threat by the end and was still putting up big numbers. Then when you look at the amount of times CJ was tackled inside of the 5 yard line its insane. We also had a lot more running touchdowns this year than in recent memory. In all honesty the people to blame would be the coaches. We were to conservative when we should have gone for the killing blow, or ran the ball instead of throwing and vise versa. I mean we fired 3 coaches right at the end of the season if that says anything.
For the team to turn around this year all we need is healthy players, get rid of some bad eggs, fortify some positions on D and upgrade the O line. As long as Best comes back, Broyles and Nate get healthy our offense will shine,. Get us a good outside pass rusher paired with Suh and Fairley and it will fix a lot of our problems. Just need people who can take the ball away.

Can someone please tell me why didn’t tell Schwartz to pack his bags? There seems to be a far better head coach that needs a job right in Chicago. Smith would take this team places they have never been before. They can even keep
Schwartz on as the leader of the defence. Pick up Turner as the offence guy.
