I’m SO sick of watching KV be a non factor play after after play. He is th Nate Burelson of the Defense. Both have big mouths, are relatively non productive on the field and are WAY past their prime.
If I gotta watch one more season of Vandenbosh being pushed out of the pass rush high and wide of the QB I think I’ll kill myself! This guy has NO IMPACT on the game anymore. Hey kyle: Take out those stupid red contacts because I think they hinder you from seeing the quarterback
Please quit giving out awards to these losers. KVB did NOTHING to help his team win this year nor does he deserve to have a starting job in the NFL anymore.
This award is as bad as that stupid rookie of the year award they gave Reiff.. a first round pick who couldn’t supplant terrible Cherilus or the ancient artifact know as Backus-soraus..
The only :awards” this team should get are pink slips to the un-employment line.

Good player, great guy, great leader. However the game has passed him by. For what little production he had this season I still don’t understand why Cunningham didn’t put the DE from OK (Lewis) in there to get his feet wet. We drafted him right? Put him in and if he’s not ready or doesn’t show potential give him the boot. Someone please tell me how other teams develop talent because the Lions apparently don’t know the secret. Here’s a tip, you don’t get better by only playing special teams. Let the youngsters play and if they suck get rid of them.

big deal, what does that do for me? and you and the damn pathetic team? Nothing, get awards now for losing? If that’s the case, give a whole bunch to the fords for losing the last 60 years, at least they are good at it..

Congrats to KVB. I love having that guy on the team. That’s a great idea to move him into a coaching/coordinator spot after he is done playing. He seems cerebral enough to do it and he definitely has respect.

JP, That would not be a bad idea. I like Vandy. He has a lot of fire and passion for the game. Good for a locker room and sideline.

I am hopeful that if and when Kyle decides to retire Coach Schwartz finds a coaching job for the guy. He created a noticeable improvement in attitude the minute he hit Detroit, and is at least partly responsible for their past improvement. The next step is for the Lions to start making smart choices in developing their drafted talent, instead of having them waste away on the bench or IR. The need for an inspirational leader on defense still exists and I think Matei Teo would be the perfect LB piece we have been missing. We also, definitely need to find one of those scatbacks that ALL of the other teams have found in the middle rounds for the last several years. I personally am not in favor in taking back Titus Young after his spoiled brat treachery of his teammates. Ryan Broyles (healthy) showed much more promise in my opinion and the DESIRE to play and be great!
