USA Today’s Mike Garafolo reported yesterday via Twitter that veteran coach Jim Washburn will join the Detroit Lions coaching staff as a defensive assistant.

Washburn has been seen in Mobile, Ala., where the Lions staff is coaching the South team. Washburn is not there in a coaching capacity.

More on this report to come following today’s South practice, which begins at 2:30 ET.

So in other words we are staying with the Wide-9 technique for our D-Ends. Don’t like it, there is not a team that runs it that is currently successfull. It is too easy to beat with off tackle runs.

this is a smart move for Lions force cunnigham to put out or be gone! This great because i feel we will have great draft and if cuningham shoot himself in the foot his gone in season 2013 and you have a replacement standing next to him! just linlen has a replacement in the wings and he to will have to prove or lose it! Smart move!

PRO BOWL SUGGESTION (be better than current).

Can Someone find a way to pass this suggestion on to the NFL OWNERS!!!!

    First; cancel the game.

Second Add the 1st Alternate Player to the Pro Bowl awarded players.

Third Due away with all other Alternate players (no longer needed – no game to play)

Finally – Make it an AWARD SHOW in Hawaii weekend BEFORE or AFTER Super Bowl where the Nominees don’t know who will win till names are called!

Talk about RATINGS – 1st year will have higher ratings than last 10 years combined!

Sorry to go off topic, but has anyone see the “stuff” coming out of Titus Young’s mouth today (1/22)? Unbelievable. The door WOULD hit in in the “rear” as he left.

Off subject.. Just draft Lacy so we will have a 1000 yard rusher to go with Calvin, so we won’t have to throw 50 times a game. He will allow us to have more ball control because so we will be able to make the 3rd and shorts. This will help the defense and the offense because defenses will have to respect the run instead of just pinning their ears back rushing the quarter back, and this will keep our defense off the field as much. Lacy can do power runs as well as big plays. He is a winner out of the winningest program and fans would be excited about him.
