thank you jack! laughing stock? every game this past year but one was a hard fought game! teams didnt beat us and say that was easy. all we can do is wait and see how this offseason plays out till then shut the f#@$k up and be a fan not a cry baby!

It appears that most of those who have already commented here know nothing about how the NFL works. First, at this point in time, the only way in which teams can acquire players is via the waiver wire or street free agency (or trade, I think.) None of the players whose names most of you would even recognize are now available, nor will regular free agents be an option until mid-March. Chill. Right now, they’re doing what teams do, lining up camp fodder and L-O-N-G shots. That, too, is part of their job.

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised at the ignorance shown here. Lions fans have shown time and again an inability to comprehend basic NFL concepts. For instance, everyone was yelling at the Lions three weeks ago for not releasing TItus Young when he went on his tweet-frenzy. Turns out NFL rules actually wouldn’t allow it until after the Super Bowl. Oops. You won’t find any of those whining Lions fans admitting they made a mistake and jumped the gun.

This is the same thing. For some reason, just because they pick up some guy everyone thinks this is the new strategy. Really? Do you really think the front office personnel sat around in a meeting and said, “Hey, let’s try something new – pick up unwanted, injured players and start them! Yeah, that will work!”

Seriously, people. This guy is for the practice squad. He may not even make it that far. It means nothing. It has nothing to do with their strategy, and it is certainly not where they are trying to start. Perhaps you guys aren’t aware that free agency doesn’t even start until March?

the lions should change their name to the big 3 and the practice squad. this shows that the lions need to go all out to trade suh. mayhew will eventually get lucky, if he signs every wr and cb on waivers.
