Mosley has been a backup for his first seven years in the league with four different teams, but he started 13 games for the Jaguars last year. He had 45 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 2012.
Detroit fans might remember Mosley; he was the one who hit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford at the end of the Cleveland game in 2009 that separated Stafford’s left shoulder. The injury resulted in one of the best moments of the Lions’ 2009 season when Stafford re-entered the game to throw the game-winning touchdown.
The Lions don’t have much depth at defensive tackle behind Suh and Fairley after Sammie Hill signed with the Titans in free agency and with Corey Williams still on the free agent market. O.G. Nwagbuo and Jimmy Saddler-McQueen are currently on the roster, but the team needs more depth there.
