The Lions will be without safety Louis Delmas and defensive tackle Corey Williams tonight against quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay offense.
Delmas did not practice Wednesday or Friday because of a sore left knee and was limited when he did practice Thursday. He’s struggled with the injury all season, but had managed to play the last two weeks in monitored snaps.
Don Carey, who had two of the Lions’ three interceptions last week against the Colts, will start at safety in Delmas’ place. Ricardo Silva will start at the other safety spot.
Safety Tyrell Johnson, whom the team signed earlier this week, will be active with Delmas out.
Williams has also been battling a knee injury for most of the season. He had surgery in late September and has missed five games. He didn’t practice all week.
Nick Fairley will make his seventh start of the season and his fifth-straight in place of Williams.
Joining Delmas and Williams among the list of inactives for the Lions are: tackles Jason Fox and Corey Hilliard, quarterback Kellen Moore, receiver Lance Long and defensive end Ronnell Lewis.
Receiver Kris Durham will get the start opposite Calvin Johnson.

The Lions were outdoors for practice today as they began on-field preparations for Sunday night’s game in Green Bay. The Lions have lost 21-straight games to the Packers in the state of Wisconsin dating back to 1991.
Five starters and another key reserve were not among their teammates at practice Wednesday.
Defensive tackle Corey Williams, cornerbacks Chris Houston and Jacob Lacey, safety Louis Delmas and right tackle Gosder Cherilus did not participate in the portion of practice open to the media. Reserve defensive end Lawrence Jackson also sat out.
All six of those players finished Sunday’s loss to the Colts, though.
New signees Tyrell Johnson and Lance Long were on the field.
Johnson, a safety, was signed Tuesday night when the team released safety Erik Coleman.
Long was signed Wednesday morning to add depth to the receiving corps. He spent the preseason with the Lions and caught eight passes for 97 yards and might have the greatest nickname in the league when he was dubbed “The Vanilla Gorilla” by teammates and coaches this preseason.
